By endorsing higher education for potential broadcasters, WLJC has established a scholarship fund aimed at students pursuing a broadcasting career. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to support potential future broadcasters. WLJC will make available up to $1000.00 annually in a scholarship award to a student enrolled and attending classes, fulltime, in a fully accredited broadcast curriculum at a Kentucky college.In order to qualify for the WLJC Broadcasting Scholarship, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have a Kentucky home address
- Be accepted and enrolled fulltime in a fully accredited broadcast curriculum at a Kentucky college or accredited vocational-technical school
- Declare a college major or minor in broadcasting/telecommunications or related field
- Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Be classified as an entering freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior student
- Complete an application form
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or college professor
- Submit an official transcript of your college or high school work
- Submit biographical information and a 500 word essay
